Smith's home in 1855
In the spring of 1855, Smith moved with her family back to New York City, to 46 Stuyvesant Street, across from St. Mark's Church.
The home was purchased for seventeen thousand dollars, eleven thousand of which Smith paid in cash. The deed is in her name only.
